Solna D380 Single-Width, Vertical Web Press An upgraded version of the D380, the D380 has the latest in press automation equipment, specifically adapted for adding capacity to existing Solna installations. As a stand-alone press, the D380 uses the same press operating console, motorized ink fountains, plate register systems and spray dampening as other Solna presses. Or, using its shaftless technology and matched operating controls, the D380 can serve as a seamless add-on tower to existing Solna press lines. Vertical layout on the D280 and D380-series, in single to four-high stacked configurations, offers flexibility as stand-alone press lines or to add capacity to existing press lines.

Solna Bookline Book Production System Solna's Bookline presses allow non-stop, high page-count, production in a wide range of available cutoffs, web-widths, and print-unit configurations, yielding 3-side open signatures utilizing double-former and ribbon-collect folders in mono, two, and high-quality 4-color with 24, 32, 48, 64 and 128-page possibilities in 1-out and 2-out formats. Solna Bookline presses, available in heatset or non-heatset configurations, are highly flexible platforms for day-in, day-out EL-HI (Elementary and High-School) textbook production meeting NASTA requirements, as well as catalog and publication printing. Simply adjust pressure with the Multi-Range® dial and lock the cylinders in place with our patented Hydraloc feature on selected Solna press models. This patented system eliminates bearers, under-packing adjustments, reduces vibration, and renders true rolling cylinders for optimum dot transfer. Unique 2+1 printing-unit design available on Distributor horizontal-series presses gives newspaper printers two colors over one from a single unit. You can add combinations of 1+1 or 2+1 units for tremendous color flexibility with fewer printing units. Horizontal layout means easy-to-reach color controls, fast adjustments, and short web leads with a traditional horizontal layout.
Sequential startup controls on the D300, as well as D380, D480, D680 and Commercial Series presses allow automated sequential startup with the simple touch of a button or mouse. Presettable, lever-controlled ink fountains, standard on all Solna D300 and D280 presses, allow fast, fingertip control so you can see the results immediately and achieve accurate color through-out the run. Integrated reelstands save space and make roll handling easier. Optional flying pasters on the Distributor Series let you run continuously during roll changes.

Solna C800 Single-Width, Horizontal Commercial Press For the highest printing quality, the Solna C800 can’t be beat. Our finest printing press, the C800 is specifically designed for today’s mixed use commercial printer. It prints more color, in less space, using fewer people. For publications, inserts, or commercial work, the C800 is ideal, especially in mixed-stock production. Its unique design allows the printing units to be stacked, so two press lines can fit in the floor space of a single press. Solna D480 and D680 Single-Width, Vertical (Tower) Press Solna's workhorse D480 in the Distributor High-Speed Series, has quickly established itself as ideal production system for high-quality color-rich newspapers. The 3 form roller inking system, on-the-run plate cylinder cocking and optional heatset equipment, make the D480 a versatile platform for commercial and insert printers as well. With it's totally shaftless design and closed-loop capable ink control system, the D480 has one of the best make-ready and productivity records in the industry. Utilizing many of the features of the C800, the D480 is robustly constructed and ergonomically loaded with precision Swedish design. Depending on folder options, the D480 can run up to 12 full color webs at up to 55,000 copies per hour. The D680, touts 2-plate around cylinder geometry and 70,000 copies per hour straight run production (35,000 collect). Both the D480 and D680 are available with high-speed, high-capacity, folders manufactured for Solna by WIFAG, the venerable Swiss press supplier.
