Solna installs 12-unit C800 at TAP Publishing
Solna recently installed a 12-unit heatset C800 press at TAP Publishing in Crossville, Tennessee.

TAP's installation is the largest Solna C800 installation to-date and consists of 12 Print Units, 2 Combination F304 Folders and heatset equipment and accessories for 3-webs.

The configuration uses both right and left-hand print units and Solna's unique unit-on-unit stacking capability. The totally shaftless design allows TAP to run the machine as separate presses or one triplex operation. The machine is configured as an 8-unit (four units stacked over four) line and a parallel 4-unit line. The twin F304 folders are positioned at 90° to the press lines utilizing a pair of Scheffer angle bar decks.

The C800 installation also touts:

  • Baldwin-Jimek Digital Spray Dampening Technology
  • MEGTEC Splicers, Shaftless Infeeds, Dryers, Pollution control, and shaftless Chill Stand.
  • Quad/Tech web controls, including closed-loop color control.
  • Interface and server for ink fountain pre-setting using TAP's CTP data in CIP-3 format (by Solna).
  • Ink fountain levelers and web break detection by US Automation
